So how has my first 20 days been?
Perfect!
I have lost 14lbs and 2.2% body fat!
ITS WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!
As most of you guys know I decided to do 100% Paleo for Lent. Yes, that means 40 days of nothing but Paleo food! I was thinking that it would be hard to adjust. HA! I was way wrong, it has been one of the easiest, quickest, most rewarding diets I have ever been on.
Paleo=Lifestyle change!
Some of you know what Paleo is and some don't. Basically I can explain it to you as NO processed foods, NO grains, NO dairy, and NO refined sugar.
When I decided to go Paleo, I basically took a list of foods I can eat and found that I could take anything from the list and cook it however I wanted. Easy! Here is the list that I used...

If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, you have probably seen me post a lot of my Paleo meals. Here are a few of my meals that I have made...
I cannot wait to get to day 40! I am so excited that I have FINALLY found something that I could continue no matter what. Maybe not 100% all the time, but the changes I have seen and felt I have definitely found something I can stick to forever.
QOTD: Have you heard of Paleo? and if so would you ever try it?

I am going to give Paleo a try as I have been told that maybe wheat and dairy arent agreeing with me. Your progress is inspiring.
ReplyDeleteYou will def be able to tell a difference in the first week. good luck and keep me updated:)
DeleteI have read great review of the Paleo diet! Have you found it difficult to fuel for your runs or to recover from long runs using the Paleo diet?
ReplyDeleteNot at all. I ran the Rock n Roll New Orleans Marathon last weekend fueled on fresh food and sweet potatos. I ate sweet potato in the morning also. And I used huma gels during the race:) My recovery was amazing, 3 days I was back at it!
DeleteIm so proud of you girl! I'm doing no sweets or refined sugar...and no starches (white or wheat) but rice...and that's hard enough! But it's totally working!
ReplyDeleteI have thought about looking more into a paleo diet but I can't even imagine giving up grains and dairy because they are a huge part of my daily foods...however, a challenge like this would be great because it would just give me a chance to test it out and see how well I could do!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the great results! :)
Im a MODIFIED paleo :)
ReplyDeleteclose as Ill ever get.
good for you girly!! looking great!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's working for you. I am a bit tempted, but I know I can't do w/o dairy or peanut butter. Otherwise, I'm pretty much on board already. Good job sticking to it.
ReplyDeleteGirl. 14 POUNDS. That's incredible! You go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteDay 4 of Whole30 here!! Just liked your page! We are sister SPAs!! Excited to follow your journey! Soooo amazed at your progress!!!
ReplyDeletewow!! that is amazing! I try to eat pretty healthy, but I've slacked a little bit lately. Need to tighten it up. I have the Whole30 list of foods to get and I'm going to use this one too!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome and very encouraging! I am on day 7 of the WHole30!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is impressive! the whole paleo thing always intrigues me but I know myself. I can't put a label on anything or a no in my mind because that leads me back to binges. So happy it's working so well for you though!
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering about the Paleo diet but the thought of giving up brown rice always trips me up. Congrats on your progress so far! You've given me something to think about!
ReplyDeleteOMG HECK YES!! I am soooo incredibly thrilled for you! This is fantastical news! Paleo rocks my socks off... LOVE! Keep it up lady!
ReplyDeleteI am so intrigued by Paleo. After my pregnancy, I am going to give it a more serious look. Will you continue Paleo after Lent? Do you miss grains?
ReplyDeleteWow! What amazing results!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of paleo but have shied away from it because I don't eat red meat and try to limit my other meats. The other parts would be good for me though.
I just finished reading "Practical Paleo" and am getting ready to start one of the 30 day plans. Most recipes sound good, but there are a few that call for things I don't like (ex. lamb meat). Did you find you could substitute meals without a problem and still have successs?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 20 days!
I did a Whole30 in January and am about to embark on another. I find I feel best when I am strict paleo.
