FRS Healthy Performance Drinks Review

Tired of Being Tired?
I know I am!

I had the opportunity to review FRS Healthy Performance drinks and chews. I have to say these drinks definitely exceeded my expectations. I have always been a protein and energy drink drinker. The problem is when companies have ventured away from the chocolate/vanilla/strawberry base it seems to not taste so good. Not FRS, they made sure that it taste good without losing any of its health benefits.

What makes FRS different from other drinks?

All FRS drink contain Quercetin, a powerful all-natural antioxidant found in foods like blueberries, apples and grapes that naturally triggers your cells’ ability to produce their own energy—without a crash. Quercetin has also been shown in multiple clinical trials to increase endurance, enhance mental acuity, support the immune system, and act as an anti-inflammmatory.

How does Quercetin work?
Instead of using lots of caffeine and sugar to give your body a lift, FRS activates your body's own energy-producing mechanisms for sustained energy without fear of crashing.
Quercetin acts in the body as a “super fuel” that mimics the effects of exercise by enhancing the production of the body's mitochondria, the energy-producing units in cells. Traditionally, exercise training has been the only practical way to increase the amount of mitochondria in cells.
FRS was developed as a fatigue-fighting health drink by a team of scientists, including Dr. Mitsunori Ono, PhD. It was then tested and refined by Dr. Ono and Dr. Lan Bo Chen, PhD. who, at the time, were both researchers at Harvard University.

FRS Healthy Performance drinks are broke down into 4 categories Energy, Protein, Weight Management, and Defense.
I was given the Wild Berry and Cherry Limeade Energy drinks. My husband and I tried both. He really liked the Wild Berry, but did not like the Cherry Limeade. I liked both of the flavors but the Wild Berry definitely tasted the best. And I did feel that small kick of sustained energy after drinking them.
I was given a pack of on the go powders in orange, however I am saving them for my many airplane trips I have planned in 2013. Its going to be part of my #2013Epicness, stay tuned!

The Protein drinks were probably my favorite. I was given the Orange Cream and Blackberry Acai. The Orange Cream was sooo good. We put it over ice and it was like drinking an orange dreamsicle. Each had 25 grams of protein per bottle. We liked it so much we have already ordered more of it.
On my way to Crossfit on Christmas Eve, I drank the FRS Healthy Slim Strawberry Melon. It was really good too. Very light taste.
The Healthy Slim has 20 calories, so I also ate the FRS natural Energy chews during class. They were not great in taste but did provide the boost of energy I needed to finish the WOD. I want to try them in my next race so I am saving the hard chews to test them out on a run. I think they are going to do really well. Oh and for those of you that have used chews and stuff during a workout, they did not leave an after taste, which is a plus for me.

I was not given a Defense to try, however based on how the other drinks tasted and performed, I am sure it does exactly what they say it does.

I hope that you guys will give FRS Healthy Performance a try. If you are like me and very busy, it is nice to have a drink you can just grab and go. To find out where you can buy FRS locally CLICK HERE!

**I was given FRS products to try through Fitfluential, all product were given to me. All opinions are my own and no one elses.

Confessions and Goals!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was great. My kids got everything they asked for. Seeing the look on my kids faces when they open those specific gifts they ask for is priceless to me. Some of you may think this is not what Christmas is about,  however my kids are always making and doing for others in need. So the fact that my husband and I can get them the things they want is exciting for us.
Anyways, I wanted to kind of catch you guys up with things going on in my life. I have taken some time off from long running since the WomansHalf mainly because my IT band issues. I am starting new challenges in 2013 and want to be able to tackle those things injury free. The down side of that is I have gained about 8lbs in the past couple months. Unfortunately for me, I gain weight FAST. Honestly, I have not been eating the healthiest and can tell. With the kids being home and holiday parties, I just feel blah! So with that being said, my goals for 2013 are

  • get back to running daily
  •  start back lifting in the gym
  •  continue Crossfit a couple days a week
  •  stretch more
  •  start back on my 90% paleo diet
  •  drink more water
  •  focus back on my health
  •  focus on me
  •  LOSE 25lbs this year
  •  focus on my cycling and swimming, hello Y
  •  stop comparing myself to myself
  •  take my vitamins regularly
  •  eat to live, not live to eat
  •  enjoy life
I hope that I have influenced some of you guys this past year in some way, shape,or form. I love writing and blogging about my life. I have a ton of really cool runcations planned this year. Lots of fun giveaways and contest. I hope you will continue to follow me and enjoy my blog as much as I love sharing it with you.

Yiftee, Gifts On-the-Go

I had the opportunity to try out the new Iphone ap Yiftee-Local gifts, On-the-Go.

Yiftee is a free ap available on your Iphone that allows you to send gifts to anyone in the U.S with just a click of a button. I sent my mother n law in Phoenix AZ a $10 Target card with the message Merry Christmas, and a minute later she was able to download it straight to her phone. The Yiftee gift comes in the form of an online MasterCard which you show the cashier right from your phone and it can be used right then. I also redeemed a Yiftee gift myself to Starbucks and was able to use it with no problems. I think this is a great way to send a special gift straight to someones phone or email that can be redeemed right then. I have been known to forget about mailing a gift out. Yikes! Yiftee can solve that problem by you picking the city and state the person lives in, scrolling through the Yiftee options in that area, choose a dollar amount and send. Its that simple, and its FREE! You should definitely check out Yiftee in your Iphone ap store today.#Spon http://yiftee.com/

I received Yiftee Gift credits to facilitate my review. All opinions are of 0to26point2 and no one elses!

My heart and prayers are with all of the families.
As a mom to a kindergartner, 2nd, and 5th grader, it really its home how precious my children are to me. So today just hug your kids a little closer and thank the people that your kids are in the care of everyday.

Exciting News, I'm an Official Swiftwick Blogger Ambassador...

I have some exciting news to share with you guys.

Most of you know my obsession with my Swiftwick socks. ever since having the chance to try them out at The Runners World Hat Trick back in October, I have been hooked. I never knew how much a sock makes a difference in how your feet feel during use till I started wearing Swiftwick. I had less sweating, less blisters, and my feet felt less tired than they ever have before. Being a 180lb runner, my feet take a beating and if I can take a little relief off of them, than I am satisfied.

Sooo, this means I will be testing and blogging about their products and bringing more information to you guys.

I have a giveaway right now of 30 pairs of the Swiftwick Sustain socks.
The only sock on the market created from post-industrial recycled nylon

Woman's Half Marathon and 10K Recap

Yesterday I told you guys about the Woman's Half Marathon Expo and Santa Run.
Today the Woman's Half Marathon/10k race recap it is!
Like I told you yesterday the expo was small but nice. And the packet pickup was such a breeze.
And it was a beautiful day.
I also wore my Swiftwick Aspire 12's the night before. They only come in black, white, and a light pink. So, I fixed them up with some cute cut off socks from Target:) HOLLA!
We made it to the start of the race about 6:15. Long enough to get to the bathroom and take a prerace photo.
Heather, me, Stefanie, Shannon, Mindy, and Melanie
Mindy and I also had to meet the other RUNPINK Ambassadors/ Bloggers for a prerace picture. These are some amazing ladies and athletes.
We lined up at the start around 7:10 following the start of the 5k. The way they had the half/10k set up, you had the option of splitting off at mile 2.9 for the 10k or continuing for the half marathon. I have been having a little issue with a little crappy injury called ITBS. Its awful. SOOO going in under trained and not feeling the best, I chose to break off at the 2.9 mile mark and finish at the 10k. I would normally have pushed through and finished the half, however I am trying to be a smarter runner and since I was there to run a race, not race the race, I was OK with this decision.
I was able to hangout drink a Stella with some Swiftwick fans at mile 3. I overheard them on the course talking about their socks and of course I had to snap a pick with them.
They had mapped out a wonderful course through the city of Baton Rouge. Another great perk of this race was they had free Brightroom pictures. They were there snapping pictures all morning. They were set up at the finish and caught this great finishers shot...
The medals at this race are one of my favorite. It was huge and had a separate charm that you can remove and wear on a necklace or bracelet.
After finishing the race I was greeted by Mike, the race director. These guys put on such a class act race. They are also the masterminds behind the Gulf Coast Half Race series. I am soooo looking forward to running those races this coming up year.
What Woman's race would be complete without Pink Portalets? That's right PINK toilets. The fact that I was VIPing meant I had one of my own to use. SCORE!
VIPing is the way to go. Who's VIPing with me next year?
Oh and dancing! There was a little Gangham Style going on. Mindy and I were showing every one how it was done. Don't you want to come runcation with us?

Overall this was an amazing race. It was very well organized and a lot of fun. I will be running this race next year for sure. I hope you will join me.

I was happy to be home and see my kids. They always want to see what mommy brings home from a race. The RUNPINK sunglasses were definitely a hit! I need 2 more pairs so they will stop fighting over them:)
Just a reminder, don't forget to enter my giveaway of 30 pairs of Swiftwick Sustain socks. The most amazing sock you will ever wear.

QOTD: Leave me a comment letting me know what you did this weekend, there may be a little gift for one of you weekenders!

Womans Half Marathon expo and Santa Run recap.

What could be more fun than a girls weekend in Baton Rouge running a race in a Santa suit in front of 1000's of people?
How about following it up running a race with a 1000 woman dressed in PINK and running for an amazing cause.

I had such a wonderful weekend with these ladies...
Stefanie, Shannon, me, Mindy, and Melanie
We loaded the car up and headed on a fantastic girls weekend full of food, racing, and laughs.
The first thing we did was head to the expo, we knew it would only be going on till 3 because of the parade that night. It was small and very easy to get our packets. Trust me if you have ever done a large race packet pickup is a race in itself, lol!
I was excited to get to the expo and see my friend Lauren, she is the owner of RACEDAYBOOKS.com The books she makes are AMAZING.
I picked out the pink Raceday book and cannot wait to fill it up this year.
I may have a little Raceday book giveaway coming soon. Stay tuned!
We picked up these super cool RUN PINK sunglasses at the expo. How cool are these? My daughter has already claimed them:( lol!
Mindy is a RUNPINK Ambassador and I am a blogger Ambassador for the race, so it was cool to be able to finally meet the people that we work with online in person. They were at the packet pickup ready to greet us. I was impressed at how organized it was. They had also a backdrop with every ones name on it that was running the race...
I was running this race for my Aunt Gwen who was recently diagnosed with T-cell Lymphoma. You kind of feel helpless when things happen you cant control. the least I can do is show my love to her knowing that every step I took on Sunday was for her.
We found a great restaurant called the Capital City Grille to have a late lunch. Shannon and I ordered the Fish Tacos. They were amazing!
We knew it was getting time for the 62nd annual Baton Rouge Christmas Parade, and we were heading the parade in a 2 mile race dressed in Santa suits.
Yes, I told you guys about the Santa Run we would be partaking in while we were there. The one thing I didn't know is that it would be 80 degrees at 5:00 when we were going to run this race in front of 1000's of people.
The suits were made of felt and YES they were HOT!
However after taking over the Subway bathroom we came out looking like this...
We opted for the no pants look! Add cute Christmas socks and You have some pretty awesome looking Santa runners!
Remember this picture from last week?
Well of course I had to do my own version of the picture...
I should have gotten my other leg up but its close enough! LOL
We started at the beginning of the parade and ran the parade route for 2 miles. The look on the kids faces as a couple hundred Santa's ran down the road was priceless.
Overall we had a blast even though we were hot and sweaty.
If you are in the area next year, you should definitely run this fun Santa race.
Don't forget I am giving away 30 pairs of my favorite Swiftwick Sustain socks. These socks are AMAZING and 30 readers are getting them. Merry Christmas!
After the parade we headed to our hotel
(Source)
We stayed at the Comfort Suites in Port Allen, LA. It was a great hotel and very easy to find. The man that checked us in was so very nice. I always stay at a Choice Hotel when traveling and have never had a problem anywhere I have stayed. Our room was amazing also. It had a couch area in the front and 2 double beds. It was very spacious and very comfy.
(Source)
Of course being a health and fitness blogger who races, I had to do the infamous night before the race picture. Oh and because Mindy says I have too!;) So here it is...
Mizuno Wave Rider 16's, Under Armour wicking shirt,  Running Skirts, and my beloved Swiftwick Aspires!
Race ready!
I hope I haven't bored you too much, lol!
I will save my Womans Half Marathon recap for tomorrow, STAY TUNED!

QOTD: How did you spend your weekend?
