Personal training at home with Wello.co

On Friday morning this was me at 5am...
This was me at 6am...
Meet my trainer for the morning Betty. I am glad I am in the small frame, I don't look that awake in the morning.
How did I meet Betty?
Welcome to Wello.co

Have you ever wanted a personal trainer to personally come to your house like a celebrity?
I know I do. Yes I go to the gym. Yes I train at home. Yes I used to be a certified personal trainer.
However there is nothing like someone else telling you what to do and pushing you to your limit.
Insert Betty!
I was able to go Wello.co and search through there database of trainers and pick the one I thought would be good for me. I was looking for someone to do a 25 minutes high intensity workout with.
I chose Betty because of all the different types of workouts she was certified for. I knew that I may wake up and be tired considering I had a heavy leg day 2 days prior and a mid distance run the day before. Basically I was SORE!
I filled out my questionnaire. Set up my computer. And waited for 6am on Friday to get here.
Sounds easy? You bet!

I woke up about 5:40 am and set up my computer, moved my coffee table and waited for Betty to come online. She was about 5 minutes early which was nice. We were able to chat before getting down to some Tabata business.
A short warm up, some Tabata (20sec work, 10sec rest, repeat), and a short cardio workout, and a cool down. 25 minutes later, I was dripping with sweat and feeling accomplished:)

Now I have some great news for all of you guys.
The great people at Wello.co is offering a 25% off discount for all of my 0to26point2 readers with the code 26point25.
Also the first 10 people to sign up get a $15 credit using code 26point25.
So hurry and go over to Wello.co and choose your trainer and your time.
You wont be disappointed!

I was given this opportunity to try out Wello.co as a Sweat Pink Ambassador for Fit Approach.
The opinions here are mine and only mine:)

weekend recap

I had a very laid back weekend. It was needed after a week of football practice with this little one...
My daughter spent the night with my parents so Donald and I took the boys to one of our favorite local places called Hopjacks. Unfortunately while we were there they let us know that they were closing down after that night. :(
So in honor of Hopjacks we had to get their famous duck fat fries...
And the massive wings...
We decided to take a stroll down to the water and check out downtown Mobile
And Fort Conde
It was a lot of fun, I want to start doing that more often.
I also received my new Headsweats visor in the mail thanks to For the Love of the Run

My weekend was relaxing, now I have some really cool things coming up on my blog this week, stay tuned...

Training Tuesday: Shin stretch

So for Training Tuesday, a little video on an effective shin stretch...
video

I posted this video a while back about a great shin/Achilles stretch workout you can do in the gym. thanks to this simple exercise, I have not had shin splints in a very long time (thank god). A lot of that is do to always having the correct shoe and fit for my feet and also lots of stretching. Some people have no problems with them but a lot of people do. I have found this exercise to be very effective when it come to stretching out those hard to reach muscles.

Today I have a 4 mile run planned for this afternoon. Hopefully I wont be too tired after gymnastics, soccer, and football practice:) Wish me luck!

QOTD: What exercises do you find to be helpful for the smaller muscle group?

Recap of my weekend and a new training plan

Hello Monday:)

Its actually just another day to me. I am at SAHM, so in the summer time I never really know what day of the week it is most of the time. My husband works a 4 day split shift, basically our weeks run in 4's, lol!

This might sound bad to some of you, but those with kids know what I mean when I say that school needs to start SOON:) Our vacations are done for the summer, minus a couple day beach trips. And I think the kids are secretly ready too, although they would never admit it.

See don't they look like they want to go back to school:)
Anyways , I have started moving into more of a Paleo style diet. Its been about 2 weeks of eating about 90%Paleo. I still eat beans and dairy. And I have not felt better in a long time. I have also noticed I am less bloated, which is a bad problem for me.
My oldest son and I decided we would use my juicer I got at a second hand store for $3, Its an older model, but it worked...
We used spinach, apples, carrots, and strawberries. It was def a great combo. Next time I think I will use more strawberries. CHEERS!
Oh hello, after run puffy face:0
Do any of you guys get that after a run?
I also visited one of my favorite stores, Old Time Pottery...they have a great clearance area, and I found this new Yoga mat.
Of all the "fitness equipment" I own, I have never owned one of these. CRAZY? I know! A simple mat makes a big difference. I also have a new challenge starting this week...
I have taken a couple of yoga classes and even a bikram yoga class, and lets just say I pretty much suck at it. I am probably the most UN-limber (is that a word?) person in the world. Whats bad is even the relaxation parts in between, my mind is wondering a mile a minute. UGH! This book has day by day poses to do, so I am going to try and do a few a day. Wish me luck:)
I took a run in my Altra Zero Drop Delilah this morning. I love these shoes for my shorter faster runs. I have no hip pain when I wear these. LOVE LOVE LOVE them!

I am excited about my Saucony Kinvara 3's I won through the Find Your Strong Project. This was the picture I sent in for the week of showing off your medals.
Cute kids? Yeah, I think Ill keep them!
And last but not least, a new training plan is in the works. A friend of mine Ali, I call him Coach Ali:) is writing me up a new revised plan for training for the MCM. I am excited about this new plan. Ali knows what kind of runner I am, so I feel like it will benefit me better that trying to follow one online. As soon as i get it I will update all you guys.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday...

QOTD: What fuels do you use for training? I am looking for some new ones to try.

Great running blogs and a relaxing rest day...

Rest days are just as important as full on training days. So yesterday Willie and I packed a lunch and met some friends and went to the beach for the day. If you have never been to the Gulf Coast and put your feet in the white sand, your missing out.
Especially when you get to spend the day with some of your best friends.
My gorgeous friend Tiffany, who is expecting twins and looks fantastic.I also spent the day with Melanie and family, but somehow we didn't take any pictures:(

This is my friend Storky, he was cool and he hung out with us all day:)
This is my youngest child Willie, he is a beach bum. He loves it.

Now on to a few really cool blogs. I am excited about these blogs, they are all about running and the reality of running. And not to mention most of these people are super fast.

1.Run Like a Girl, and Mean It this is my good friend Rebecca and one of the fastest friends I have. She is a track coach and teacher here locally. I have learned a lot from her about running. Check out her blog for all her racing updates and coaching techniques.

2.Runninghood She writes about balancing life as a mom and marathon runner.I think every running parent can relate to her post.

3.Mom against the Marathon Meggan does an amazing job of recapping her races. Its amazing, you almost fell like your there with her. As a 2:49 marathoner, she is crazy fast. Check her out if you like full on recaps.

Sushi makin' and 3 miles!

I have been wanting to make sushi for a long time. I was given one of those "kits" for Christmas like 2 yrs ago and it has sat in my cabinet with the bow still on it. OOPS! Well something told me not to throw it out when we moved a year ago into our new house.
Last night was the day that this...
turned into this...
I thought I did pretty good job.
My husband told me that I had outdone myself, so I guess it was good. LOL!
I have never made sushi in my life and actually never paid attention to them making at a restaurant. Its amazing the things you can learn off the internet. After reading a few blogs tips on what to buy, I headed off to the Saigon Supermarket by my house. I love that place.
And I made 6 rolls for under $10. Crazy Cheap!

My ingredients...
Tuna w/cayenne pepper, salmon fillets, crab meat, carrots, cucumber, avocado, chia seeds, and cream cheese. YUM

Here is some rolling pictures...
Cha, Cha, Cha, Chia!

And the finished products
California roll, spicy tuna roll, salmon spicy roll, and a seafood medley roll
It was actually really easy. I was actually surprised at how simple it actually was. Def will be making these a lot. I mean 6 rolls for $10, When we go out for sushi 4 rolls cost us around $50. So it is much cheaper to do it at home.

Thumbs up!

Oh and about those 3 miles, they happened on the treadmill, before the sushi making festival!
Again the boring treadmill, but I am excited about the hubby being off for the next 4 days so I can get some road running in. BAMMMMMM!
And give you guys a better training update, Outside rocks!

QOTD: Have you ever made sushi and if so, I would love your recipes.
Leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you:)

My day and some of my favorite blogs...

Last night I did a very boring treadmill run, 5 miles in 58 minutes. It was a good run, I just get soooo terribly bored on my treadmill. I told myself that I couldn't get off it till I was at 5 miles or 60 minutes. So when that 5.0 hit the screen I was done. LOL! Next week my mileage goes up and I am excited and scared at the same time. I have been kind of quiet about my training but I do want to keep you guys updated on it. Tomorrow I am hoping to get a bike ride in now hat my great relaxing day got canceled. Might as well do some training, right?

I also cooked up some roasted broccoli slaw with chicken from Kristen's blog. It was super good. The hubby even liked it. He is surprising me everyday with actually liking these dishes...
<><>
I'm not a good food photog, sorry! I promise it was delicious.
Here is the recipe:
Preheat oven 400 degrees
Place 1 bag of Dole broccoli slaw on a greased cookie sheet, spray the slaw too. I use the olive oil spray.
I added garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Tony Chacheras seasoning.
Bake for about 20 minutes
I boiled 5 chicken tenderloins and chopped into pieces and sauteed with some red pepper flakes and more garlic.
Microwave 1/2 can of spaghetti sauce till hot
Place slaw in bowl, top with chicken, and cover with spaghetti sauce and enjoy.
It made 2 servings...
Calories 212, Fat 1.5, Carbs 22, Protein 26, Sodium 800, Sugar 11
Next time I am going to try and find a low sodium sauce. (Any suggestions?)
